eRabbinica brings together the separate and collaborative work of Hayim Lapin and Daniel Stökl to create born -digital edition of classical rabbinic texts. There are two demos available through this site: 1. An early app on the Mishnah including on-the-fly collation of variants using text alignment program called collatex along with different possible views of the text. 2. Midrash (currently Mekhilta), incorporating text-image alignment, computer-generated morphological analysis, and textual apparatus based on different pre-set criteria.

Our goal is to merge these applications and to expand the scope of the base application to include other rabbinic texts (Sifre Devarim and Sifra are in progress).

In the interval between the creation of the two apps, our work has adopted new transcription methods.
