היה קורא בתורה והגיע זמן המקרא אם כיון לכו יצאואם לאו לא וכפרק חים שואל מפני הכבוד ומשיב וב 30  ובאמצע שואל מפני היראה ומשיב דבר׳ דברי ר׳ רבי מאיר ר׳ רבי יהוד׳ יהודה אומ׳ אומר באמצע שואל מפני היראה ומשיב מפני הכבוד ובפרקים שוא׳ שואל מפני הכבוד ומשיב שלום לכל אדם׃

אילו מן הפרקים בין ברכה ראשונה לשנייה בין 35  שנייה לשמעבן שמע לו היה אם שמוע בין והיה אם שמוע לוי אמר בן אמת וי ויציב לא יפסיק אמ׳ אמר ר׳ רבי יהוש׳ יהושע בן קרחה למה קדמאה שמע לו היה אם שמוע כדי שיקבל עליו מלכות שמים ? 40  תחילה וא׳ ואחר כך ואחרכך יקבל עליו עול מצות והיה אם שמוע לו יאמר שוהיה אם שמע נוהג ביום ובלילה ויאמר אינו נוהג אלא ביום

הקורא את שמע ולא השמיע לאונו יצא ר׳ רבי יוסי אומ׳ אומר לא יצ 45  יצא קרא ולא דיקדק באותותיה ר׳ רבי יוסי אומ׳ אומר יצא ר׳ רבי יהוד׳ יהודה אומ׳ אומר לא יצא. הקורא 26rB  למפרע לא יצא. קרא וטעה יחזור למקום שיטעה.

האומנין קורין בראש האילן או בראש נדבך מה שאינן רשיאין לעש 5  לעשות כן בתפילה.

חתן פטור מקרית שמ׳ שמע לילה ראשון. ועד מוצאי שבת ועד מ מוצאי שבת אם לא עשה מעשה. ומע ומעשה ברבן גמליא׳ גמליאל שנשא אשה ו וקרא בלילה שנשא אמרו לו תלמידיו 10  רבינו לא לימדתנו שחתן פטור מקרית שמע לילה הראשון אמ׳ אמר להם איני שו שומע לכם לבטל ממנו מלכות שמים אפ׳ אפילו שעה אחת

רחץ לילה הראשון שמתה אשתו אמרו לו לימדתנו שאכל אסור 15  לרחוץ אמ׳ אמר להם אינו בשאר בני אדם איסטניס אני.

וכשמת טבי עברו קיבל עליו תנחומין אמרו לו לימדתנו שאין מקבלין תנחומין על העברים אמ׳ אמר להם אינו יודע דומה טבי עברי כשאר עבדי׳ עבדים 20  בשר היה.

חתן אם רוצה לקרות לילה הראשון קורא. רבן שמע׳ שמעון בן גמל׳ גמליאל אומ׳ אומר לא כל הרוצה ליטול את השם ליטול.
