ואילו הן בין הפרקים בין ברכה ראשונה לשנייה בין שנייה לשמע. בין שמע לוהיה אם שמוע בין והיה אם שמוע לויאמר בין ויאמר לאמת ויציב. ר׳ רבי יהודה או׳ אומר בין ויאמר לאמת 20 ויציב לא יפסיק. אמ׳ אמר ר׳ רבי יהושע בן קרחה למה קדמה שמע לוהיה אם שמוע כדי שיקבל עליו מלכות שמים תחילה ואחר כך עול מצות. והיה אם שמוע לויאמר שוהיה אם שמוע נוהג ביום ובלילה. ויאמר אינו נוהג אלא ביום.
3הקורא את שמע ולא השמיע לאזנו יצא. ר׳ רבי יוסי או׳ אומר לא יצא. קרא ולא דיקדק באותותיה ר׳ רבי יוסי או׳ אומר יצא. ר׳ רבי יהודה או׳ אומר לא יצא. הקורא למפרע לא יצא. קרא וטעה יחזור למקום שטעה.
4האומנין קורין בראש האילן ובראש הנדבך 25 מה שאינן רשאין לעשות כן בתפילה.
5חתן פטור מקרית שמע בלילה הראשון עד מוצאי שבת אם לא עשה מעשה. מעשה ברבן גמליאל שנשא אשה וקרא לילה הראשון שנשא. אמרו לו תלמידיו רבינו לא כך לימדתנו שחתן פטור מקרית שמע לילה הראשון. אמ׳ אמר להן איני שומע לכם לבטל ממני מלכות שמים אפי׳ אפילו שעה אחת.
6רחץ בלילה הראשון שמתה אשתו אמרו לו תלמידיו רבינו לא כך לימדתנו שאבל אסור לרחוץ. אמ׳ אמר להן איני כשאר בני אדם 30 איסטניס אני.
7מת טבי עבדו וקיבל עליו תנחומין אמרו לו תלמידיו רבינו לא כך לימדתנו שאין מקבלין תנחומין על העבדים. אמ׳ אמר ליה אין טבי עבדי כשאר כל העבדים כשר היה.
8חתן אם רוצה לקרות קרית שמע בלילה הראשון קורא. רבן שמעון בן גמליאל או׳ אומר לא כל הרוצה ליטול לו את השם יטול.
