במה מדליקין ובמה אין מדליקין. אין מדליקין לא בלכש לא בחוסן ולא בכלך לא בפתילת האידן 1_160v ולא בפתילת המדבר ולא בירוקה שעל פני המים לא בזפת ולא בשעוה לא בשמן קיק ולא בשמן שריפה לא באליה ולא בחלב. נחום המדי או׳ אומר מדליקין בש בחלב מבושל. וחכמ׳ וחכמים אומ׳ אומרים אחד מבושל ואחד שאינו מבושל אין מדליקין בו.
2ב׳ אין מדליקין בשמן שריפה ביום טוב. ר׳ רבי ישמעאל או׳ אומר אין מדליק׳ מדליקים 5 בעיטרן מפני כבוד השבת. וחכמ׳ וחכמים מתירין בכל השמנים. שמן שומשמין שמן אגוזים שמן צנונות שמן דגים שמן פקועות בעיטרן ובנפט. ר׳ רבי טרפון או׳ אומר אין מדליקין אלא בשמן זית בלבד.
3ג׳ כל היוצא מן העץ אין מדליקין בו אלא פשתן וכל היוצא מן העץ אינו מְיטַמֵא טומאת אוהלים אלא פשתן. פתילת הבגד שקיפלה ולא היבהבה ר׳ רבי אליעזר או׳ אומר טמיאה ואין מדליקין בה. ר׳ רבי עקיבה או׳ אומר טהורה ומדליקין בה.
4ד׳ לא יקוב אדם שפופרת שלביצה וימלאנה שמן ויתנינה 10 על פי הנר בשביל שתהא מנטפת אפילו היא שלחרס ור׳ ורבי יהודה מתיר. אם חיברה היוצר מתחילה מותר. לא ימלא אדם את הקערה שמן ויתננה בצד הנר ויתן ראש הפתילה בתוכה בשביל שתהא שואבת. ור׳ ורבי יהודה מתיר.
