היה קרוח בתורה והגיע זמן המקרא אם כיון לבו יצא ואם לאו לא יצא בפרקים שו מפני הכבוד ומשיב באמצע שו מפני היראה ומשיב דברי ר׳ מאיר ר׳ יהוד׳ אומ׳ באמצע 20 שואל מפני היראה ומשיב מפני הכבוד׳ בפרקים שואל מפני הכבוד ומשיב שלום לכל אדם.10
