היה קורא בתורה והגיע זמן המקרא אם כיוון לבו יצא ואם לאו לא יצא ובפרקים שואל מ׳ 10  מפני הכבוד ומשיב ובאמצע שואל מפני ה׳ היראה ומשיב דברי ר׳ רבי מאיר ר׳ רבי יהודה אמ׳ אמר באמצע שואל מפני היראה ומשיב מפני הכבוד ובפרקים שואל מפני הכבוד ומשיב שלום לכל האדם

ב׳ אילו הן בין הפרקים בין ברכה ראשונה 15  לשנייה בין שנייה לשמע בין שמע לוהיה אם שמע בין והיה אם שמע לויאמר בין ויאמר ל׳ לאמת ויציב ר׳ רבי יהודה אמ׳ אמר בין ויאמר לאמת ויציב לא יפסיק ג׳ אמר ר׳ רבי יהושע בן קרחה למה קדמה שמע לוהיה אם שמע אלא 20  שיקבל עליו מלכות שמים תחילה ואחר כך יקבל עליו עול מצוות והיה אם שמע לויאמר שוהיה אם שמע נוהג ביום ובלילה ויאמר אינו נוהג אלא ביום

ד׳ הקורא את שמע ולא השמיע לאזנו יצא ור׳ ורבי יוסי אומ׳ אומר לא יצא קרא 25  ולא דיקדק באותותיה ר׳ רבי יוסי אומ׳ אומר יצא ור׳ ורבי יהוד׳ יהודה או׳ אומר לא יצא הקורא למפרע לא יצא קרא וטעה יחזור למקום שטעה

ה׳ האומנין קורין בראש האילן או בראש הנדבך מה שאינן רשאין ל׳ לעשות כן בתפילה

ו׳ חתן פטור מקרית 30  שמע בלילה הראשון ועד מוצאי שבת אם לא עשה מעשה מעשה ברבן גמליאל שנשא וקרא בלילה שנשא אמרו לו לא לימדתנו ש׳ שחתן פטור מקרית שמע בלילה הראשון א׳ אמ׳ אמר להם איני שומע לכם לבטל ממני מלכות 35  שמים שעה אחת

ז׳ רחץ בלילה הראשון שמתה אשתו אמרו לו לא לימדתנו רבינו שאבל אסור לרחוץ אמ ׳ אמר להם איני כשאר כל האדם אסתנס אני

ח׳ וכשמת טבי עבדו קיבל עליו תנחומים אמרו לו לא לימדתנו שאין 40  מקבלין תנחומים על העבדים אמ ׳ אמר להם אין 2r  2rA  טבי עבדי כשאר כל העבדים כשר היה

ט׳ חתן אם רוצה לקרות את שמע בלילה הראשון קורא רבן שמעון בן גמליאל א׳ אומר לא כל הרוצה ליטול 5  לו את השם יטול
